Boyle's Law Isotherms

1. What labels for the vertical and horizontal axess would be consistent with the plot in the figure below if the plot represents an ideal gas isotherm?

Answer: if the plot represents an ideal gas isotherm, the shape of the plot suggests that the quantities are inversely proportional at constant temperature.  The plot is P vs. V, or V vs. P.  This assumes the bottom left corner is the origin.

2. What labels for the vertical and horizontal axes would be consistent with the plot in the figure below if the plot represents an ideal gas isotherm?
Answer: if the plot represents an ideal gas isotherm, the shape of the plot suggests that the quantities plotted on the axes are directly proportional at constant temperature.  Possible answers: P vs. (1/V), (1/V) vs. P,  (1/P) vs V, V vs. (1/P).  This assumes the bottom left corner is the origin.
